Budha Talab is located at 21°13’57″N 81°38’3″E, the heart of the Raipur city and is also known as Vivekanand Sarovar. It is one of the most beautiful sites in Raipur and visitors can enjoy the boating also. The beauty of the place is enhanced with surrounding green trees and gardens.
It is one of the best evening outing place. The park itself is a narrow pathway running in between the lake with bettle nut trees standing tall on both side. The presence of colour fountains on the talab and it looks more beautiful in the night with the lights.
The beautiful part of the budha talab is the gigantic statue of Swami Vivekananda in meditating position at the end of the park. Due to its size, the statue has gained a place in the Limca Book of record. The reflection of the illuminated status on the lake in the evening is an enchanting view. It is said that Swami Vivekananda used to bath and swim in this lake during his stay in Raipur for 2 years. The visitors can get good refreshments at the food stalls just outside the park. During sunset time it is the best time to visit the place.
